Understanding the UNI Subscription Model

1. How Subscriptions Work

• Monthly Renewal: All subscriptions renew automatically each month to maintain a continuous learning experience.
• Weekly Lesson Plan:
  • 1 lesson per week = 4 lessons per month.
  • 2 lessons per week = 8 lessons per month.
• Starting Mid-Month: Subscriptions starting mid-month are adjusted based on the amount of remaining “complete 7 days” left . For example, if a learner subscribes 2 lessons/week on Nov. 7th, there are three “complete 7 days” left in November, therefore they pay for 6 lessons this month.

2. Trial & Regular Lessons

• First Step: Learners can start with a 25-minute trial to meet the instructor and sample their teaching style.
  • Suggested Lesson Structure:
    1. Build Rapport (0-3 mins): Introduce yourself and make the student feel comfortable.
    2. Assess Student's Level (3-8 mins): Discuss their placement test or assess their level. Instructors should be familiar with the CEFR language proficiency levels (A1 to C2).
    3. Set Learning Goals (8-15 mins): Understand what they want to achieve.
    4. Live Lesson Activity (15-23 mins): Show your teaching method through an engaging activity.
    5. Feedback & Next Steps (23-25 mins): Give feedback and discuss the next steps for their learning journey.
  • Commission for Trial Lessons: The commission rate for trial lessons is 100%, meaning instructors will not be paid for these sessions. UNI uses these earnings for marketing, platform maintenance, and feature development.
• Moving Forward: If they enjoy the trial, they can easily transition to a monthly subscription for regular lessons.

  • Regular Lessons

    After the trial, adapt your lessons to meet the student’s needs. Provide regular feedback, assign homework, and continually adjust your curriculum to keep them engaged. If a lesson cannot be conducted due to special circumstances, report it to the admin, and UNI will help resolve the issue. If you need textbooks or other resources, feel free to contact UNI for support.

3. Scheduling and Flexibility

• Custom Scheduling: Learners can book single lessons or set up recurring weekly lessons, depending on availability.
• Rescheduling and Cancellations:
  • Learners must reschedule or cancel at least 12 hours before the lesson to avoid charges.
  • If canceled within 12 hours, it’s considered as late cancellation and the instructor still gets paid.
  • Instructors should communicate in advance clearly with their learners if they need to cancel or reschedule to avoid misunderstandings and dispute.

4. Adding Extra Lessons

• More Options: Learners can buy extra lessons within their subscription period, which allows flexible scheduling as needed.

5. Cancelling Subscriptions

• Easy Cancellation: Learners can cancel their subscription anytime via their dashboard.
• Refund Policy:
  • Any unbooked or upcoming lessons not yet conducted in this subscription are refunded as UNI credits to learners’ accounts.
  • Scheduled lessons in this subscription will be automatically canceled.
• Pro Tip for Instructors: Remind learners to cancel their subscription only after their last scheduled lesson to prevent disruptions.

6. Lesson Confirmation and Payments

• Confirmation Steps:
  • Learners confirm each completed lesson.
  • If they don’t, a reminder email goes out after 24 hours.
  • After 72 hours, the system auto-confirms the lesson.
